Show off!

Okay, so here's the proof that this kiddo is saying Ma Ma (and of course Da Da)! And a little more clapping and standing action...  It's a little dark, but you get the idea :)

Delicious Things

I thought I would share the most delicious recipe.  It is from my Mom and I usually make them at Christmas time.  Blake asked me a couple weeks ago "You know those delicious things?  Why haven't I had any yet this year?"...so, I made a double batch.  They really are delicous :)

Delicious Things

Preheat oven to 400 first.

1 sleeve saltines
2 sticks butter
¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
2 cups choc.chips (you can use any kind...milk choco, white choco, dark choco and mint, choco and peanut butter)
Sliced Almonds (or any nuts you like or even crushed peppermint)
Line jelly pan with foil and coat with non-stick spray
Spread with saltines

Butter & sugar --- boil 3 min. until it reaches soft ball stage
Pour over saltines ---spread evenly
Bake 5 min. --- 400 degrees

Sprinkle chips on hot stuff --- let sit 1 min.
Spread Chips with spatula
Press nuts over top
Cool and break up

And Voila!

And I thought I would share a couple a pic of my Christmas tree and mantle, so someone can see it besides just us :)

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Thank you, Santa and Baby Jesus!

Boston has been saying Dada for what seems like eternity!  Drum roll please...last week, he finally said MAMA!  Thank you, Santa and Baby Jesus! He actually had a really big week.  We were working on waving with him, hoping he could wave by Christmas.  That's going just OK.  He kind of waves some of the time or just beats on his chest...which is actually also pretty funny.  Instead he decided he would start clapping up a storm and standing on his own.

The past few days he has been standing for a few seconds here and there.  Blake got home with him today and went to use the restroom.  We normally just sit Boston in the middle of our bathroom and hope he doesn't get too far when we have to take care of business.  Blake looked over and there he was just standing in the middle of the bathroom.  This is huge because not only was he holding his balance, but he stood up on his own.  There wasn't anything around that he could have held on to to get up on his feet.  So, here's a little side bar...I guess when Boston was napping right before he came home, he somehow managed to take his own pants off.  April went in to get him and he was pant less in his crib and he came home this way.  This explains why the kiddos is bare legged in the next 3 videos.

Right after the bathroom incident, I whipped out the Flip and got this video.  He really surprised me!  This is the first time I've seen him stand this long on his own and I actually captured it on video...yay!

This is a little video of him clapping away!

And here he is just plain showing off.  Clapping and standing at the same time!

Bo meets Santa

Hey Y'all!  It's been pretty busy around here, so I haven't posted anything in a while.  This one will be quite a few pics.  Boston went to meet Santa and I had our own little photo shoot at our house with his tie on.  I had a jillion shots, so I narrowed it down to my faves.  There's a few other fun pics in here and a video.

This is Boston swinging in the backyard today.  I can't believe it's 70 degrees the week before Christmas.

We got this new great ottoman that has storage in each corner.  That is where we keep Boston's toys.  Here's Bo in toy heaven.
This is the mini-photo shoot we did at our house.  Quite the handsome young man, if I do say so myself...
Boston met Santa for the 1st time last weekend. He wasn't quite sure at first.  He clung on to my arm, like 'who in the heck is this?'  Then as soon as I pulled out my camera he started cheesing it up :)

Bo and Santa talking
 Naughty or Nice?
And this is the $25 picture from the mall folks.
KK and I in front of the Christmas Tree last weekend before we went out for a night on the town!  I didn't think my tree was all that small, but we look like giants...you can barely see the tree.
 And the hubs and me!
Boston bouncing in his Johnny Jump up!
Soooo, this really made me laugh.  Boston had pulled a bunch of Christmas ornaments of the tree and was playing with them, one of them being a little Christmas mouse.  He moved on to pull himself up on the shelf.  I looked up and saw that he had a little something hanging out of his butt.  Blake wasn't home, so I had to snap a little pic.  Ladies & gents...the mouse hanging out of my sons butt :)

Bath time with BoBo

Boston had an audience while he took a bath at JoJo's.  He is definitely not camera shy!

AND Happy Birthday, Nissy!!  Hope it's a great one!

Happy Tanksgiving!

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble, Y'all!  Boston is officially 9 months old and was sick over Thanksgiving. He was runny/stuffy/coughy and just a pretty sad puppy in general.  I think Blake and I both caught what he had, but thankfully Bo is starting to feel better.  We went to Dallas and had a great time (except for my Longhorns getting their butts kicked by the Aggs).  Here are some random pics from this past week and a few from our trip to Houston the weekend before.

9 month stats at the Doc today:
Weight: 18 lbs and 15.5 ounces (25 percentile)
Height: 29.5 in (75 percentile)
Noggin:  I don't remember what they said, but it's in the 75 percentile.

Lincoln and Boston - sweet boys!

Nissy, Carter and Charlsie - we went to see Tangled in 3D!
We took Bo for a walk.  You can tell how sucky he feels!
Blake went in the pool after after the Aggie Win! It may have been in the 30's outside...it was burrrrr!  Booo Aggies Booo!
 JoJo and Bo
1st Thanksgiving!  Boston has the wishbone here. He tried some stuffing and mashed potatoes!
BoBo and in his turkey hat...wait for it...
And the meltdown.  Get this thing off my head!
Boston getting into the Christmas tree. The branches tickle his neck and he doesn't like that very much.  Maybe it'll keep him away...fingers crossed.
We finally got to meet Sweet Baby Violet (Stacey's new bundle of joy).  She was an angel the whole time we were in Houston.
Boston being naughty and getting into all of Aunt Ninny's stuff

No No No No No

This kiddo does something new every day and we are loving it.  He has figured out the tone of a question and almost every time he shakes his head No.  I don't think he knows what No means, but he knows we laugh everytime!  You can see him in action below.

Here's another genius story...I was showing Boston pictures of himself on my iPod this morning.  He gets a kick out of this.  He laughs everytime he sees himself.  A picture popped up of him that I also have framed on the wall behind the couch where we were sitting.  He took a good look at it and then whipped his head around and looked at the same picture on the wall.  You could see the wheel's turning.  We have one smart cookie on our hands :)

Klock Klock Klock

This one cracks me up...I think I say that for every video :)  When we make the Klock, Klock, Klock (not sure how else to spell this) noise at Boston he repeats it back.  At this end of this, he gets real real excited and starts jumping up and down. Then at the very end it looks like he gave a little wink...

Then on I recorded him watching himself on the above video, he went nuts!  Pretty funny little guy!

Birthday Party, Boston's Dedication and my Honey Do list is Done!

We had another big weekend.  We had a little birthday party for Blake on Saturday and we dedicated Boston in our church on Sunday.  Both Blake and my families were in town.  Of course, I was too busy to take a ton of  pics, but I'll share what I have.  We joked all weekend that my Dad was a day-laborer.  We appreciated his help so much.  He knocked out Blake's 'honey-do' list and some.  I'm sure I'm missing something, but here we go: hung a swing in a tree for Bo (love love love this), cleaned and fixed our gutters, bordered a flower bed in the front and back yard, cleaned all the coolers (and they were Gah-ross), put in 2 dimmer light switches, baby-proofed some shelving units and cabinet doors, cleaned and waxed my car, organized the drink fridge in the garage, organized my screws, nuts, bolts, etc. And I'm sure I'm forgetting something!  Thank you, Dad!!

We don't have ANY plans this coming weekend and we are sooo excited. We are going to relax and hang out with Bo all weekend. We might even have time to watch the Netflix movie that has been sitting here for over a month. I can't WAIT!

Boston LOVES his new swing!

These 2 are the only party pics...Burkhart is letting Bo eat his sunglasses.

Happy Halloweeny and lots of other stuff!

It has been a very very busy week.   On top of many special events, Boston has sprouted his first tooth and started crawling.   We went through a couple weeks of Bo waking on the middle of the night and pretty much crying every 30 min. or so.  We think it was a combo of his tooth hurting him and he is getting smart.  He knows if he cries that mama and dada will come 'a' runnin.  Sooo, we Ferberized him and we are back in business.  Boston is pretty much sleeping through the night again.

The festivities started last weekend, when Jo Jo and Norby came in town and we went to the Texas vs Iowa State game (Texas failed me, yet again)!  This past weekend we went to the Randy Rogers concert on Friday night.  Then we drove to Dallas on Saturday because we scored some World Series tickets for Sunday night and it was Halloween.  Happy Halloweeny to everyone!  Too bad we didn't win, but it was AWESOME to get to go to a World Series game!

Below is a video and some fun pics from all the fun!
